Social Media Marketing for Home Improvement: Tell Your Brand Story Visually

Home improvement is visual by nature; people want to see the transformations, the craftsmanship, the before-and-after “wow” moments. That makes social media, especially visually-oriented platforms, a perfect marketing channel for your business.

Share Before & After Transformations

One of the most engaging things you can post is side-by-side before-and-after photos of projects. There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing a drab kitchen become a dreamy cooking space, or an overgrown garden turn into a lovely patio.

These kinds of posts typically get high engagement because they’re dramatic and inspiring. Make sure to get good photos before you start a job (even if the “before” is ugly – that’s the point!) and then the same angle “after”.

In-Progress and Behind-the-Scenes Content

Don’t shy away from showing works-in-progress. People love a peek behind the curtain. Post a short update, like “Sneak peek: new extension coming along nicely in Dunstable, roof going on today!” with a photo of your team on site (everyone wearing safety gear, etc., showing professionalism).

Or an Instagram Story of you unboxing new tiles that just arrived for a project, captioned “Can’t wait to see these vintage-pattern tiles installed for Mrs. Smith’s kitchen!”. This type of content does two things

  • It humanises your company (you’re not just a faceless business; you’re real people doing cool work)
  • It creates anticipation (followers might check back to see the final result).

It also subtly educates your audience on the process, making them feel more comfortable with big projects since they see how it unfolds.

Showcase Your Team and Culture

Occasionally, let people meet the team behind the magic. Feature short profiles or fun pics: “Meet Dave, our master carpenter – 10 years with Loop Digital and responsible for those beautiful custom shelves you see in our projects”, with a photo of Dave at work (or holding a coffee and smiling on site).

Or a goofy team selfie when appropriate. Celebrating a team birthday or a milestone (“100th project completed this year!”) can also go up.

This builds a personal connection and trust – clients feel like they know the people who might come to their home.
